We just learned about report writing. We made a list of what we noticed about reports.
•contain pictures (real photos or drawn)
•contain detailed information
•pictures have labels and captions
•topics are divided with headings and subheadings
•contain information about real things
•sometimes have a table of contents
•sometimes reports have an index in alphabetical order
•sometimes reports have a glossary in alphabetical order
•contain lots of text
•introduces you to new words
•sometimes reports contain maps
•reports are non-fiction
•sometimes reports contain diagrams
•pictures can be found on the cover and throughout the report
•reports contain new information
We also made a list of questions.
•Do they always have to be about real things?
•How do the author’s write reports?
•Why do we have reports?
•Do author’s like writing reports?
•Do many people write reports on animals and places?
•Do reports always have introductions and new vocabulary?
