Cereal Boxes!
The Cereal Box Book Reports were FABULOUS! I could tell that the students really worked hard on these projects. I hope they enjoyed doing them as much as we enjoyed talking about each of them. Habits of Good Writers
We developed a list of habits good writers display. Here is our list:
• hooks the reader and keeps them hooked
• stays focused
• is very detailed in writing
• asks questions about the topic
• uses an interesting title
• writes daily
• rereads and checks over work
• draws pictures, diagrams, charts, tables, etc.
• brainstorms ideas
• borrows ideas from other writers
• writes a lot
• uses many different words
• puts their name on their work
• writes about topics they know
• selects their genre of writing
• plans the writing piece
These are the habits of a good writer that we have observed. Do you have any ideas to add to our list?
